Abstract
After a hydrological study of the San Juan Londo Valley, it was observed that the water from some wells had temperatures higher than 40°C; therefore a study of the groundwater was carried out in order to find the possible sources of hot water. The chemical analyses of water samples yielded high concentrations of chloride in areas related to gravity and magnetic anomalies, and to minimal values of magnesium concentration. Deep temperatures calculated with chemical geothermometers have values higher than 100°C for the mixed water. These results suggest the existence of a thermal component in the waters produced by the wells in the valley.
