Abstract
The Cerro Prieto geothermal field, like all geothermal fields in the world, has several potential pollutants such as gases, brines, noise and heat; and problems as steam dispersion, subsidence, induced seismicity, scenic changes, and accidental spills. These factors produce negative ecological impacts; due to this, measures must be taken for their control almost all the geothermal pollutants and problems. Furthermore, plans for the use of geothermal wastes are under considerations. Industrial, agriculture, and aquaculture waste uses are now under development; installations for commercial salts extraction and demonstration plants for heat waste use, are already being constructed.
