Abstract
During the past year Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation and the General Electric Company jointly and separately evaluated the use of centrifugal compressors for noncondensable gas removal on four separate geothermal power projects. For each of these applications, compressors became the economic choice for efficient removal of noncondensable gases from the condenser. This paper describes the benefits of using centrifugal compressors for noncondensable gas removal and some consideration involved in geothermal applications.
