Abstract
The aim of the present work is to utilize carbon monoxide for geothermometric purpose in geothermal reservoirs. The CO species allows introducing the reaction CO+1/2O2=CO2 in thermodynamic calculations, thus making calculations independent of any speculation of the mineralogical paragenesis buffering the oxygen fugacity.
