Abstract

Aquifer chemistry and reactions between thermal water, spring water and groundwater may provide useful information to geochemical assessment of reservoir potentials of geothermal systems. For most thermal water systems, the only surface manifestations are non boiling springs with or without mineral deposits. The up flowing thermal water may attain spring conditions by mixing with near surface groundwater or loss heat and interactions with flow path wall rocks. The correlation of spring and groundwater chemistry by ternaray system diagrams can show these mixing conditions and the aquifer chemistry can then be adequately predicted.
