Abstract
SPE Paper No.9275, "The Role of Step Rate Injectiviity Testing in Liquid Dominated Highly Fractured Geothermal Reservoir," was presented at the 55th Annual Fall Technical Conference of the Society of Petroleum Engineers of AIME in September 1980. The paper discussed the application of step rate injectivity testing to determine injecting rates and pressures used in sizing injection equipment for the future field development of the Roosevelt Hot Springs Unit (RHSU) located in Beaver County, Utah ad the Desert Peak Unit (DPU) located in Churchill County, Nevada. The gathered information was also used to verify the highly fractured nature of both geothermal reservoirs and cross check previous permeability calculations. This paper will present an update of actual injection data observed in the RHSU wells and the result obtained during recent step rate injectivity testing at DPU.
