Abstract
The Raft River 5-MW(e) Pilot Plant Project was started in 1976. Construction is scheduled for completion in July 1980, with three years of engineering and operation testing to follow. The plant utilized a 280°F geothermal fluid energy source and a dual boiling isobutane cycle. Developmental efforts are in progress in the areas of downhole pumps and chemical treatment of geothermal fluids for cooling tower makeup.
