Abstract
The need to convert all the energy of the geothermal field into work directs the use of condensers where the noncondensables must be extracted from. A good percentage of the power produced by a geothermal installation is spent at the extraction equipment. This paper aims at reducing the amount of work spend in this equipment by diverting most of the noncondensable mass to an atmospheric turbine. Primary flashing is used for that matter to separate the noncondensables and the mean stream of the condensing turbine becomes almost free of them.
