Abstract
Environmental isotopes were used to investigate the origin and age of the thermal waters and estimate the subsurface temperatures of the Mt. Meager, B.C. geothermal system. Water samples were collected at all accessible discharges of thermal and cold waters, from runoff and from precipitation and analyzed for 180, 2H, 3H, 13C, 14C and 34S concentrations in water, dissolved carbon, hydrothermal calcites and dissolved sulphate.
