Abstract
Castle Hot Springs, a resort area established in 1891, is presently owned by the Arizona State University Foundation and used as a University conference center. It is located 70 km northwest of Phoenix in an area of several other warm springs. The spring issues an average flow of 1,300 liters per minute with a surface temperature of 46 c. Water geochemistry indicated a subsurface temperature in exceed of 100 c. The resource is being evaluated as an energy source for space heating and cooling of the conference center.
