Abstract
Vapor liquid interaction in geothermal fluid systems can now be estimated by new techniques based on the thermodynamics of weak electrolyte solutions. These new techniques permit improved estimates of the scaling potential and gas/liquid ratios in flowing geothermal resources. Direct computation of activity coefficients of dissolved species such as CO2, NH3 and H2S and their dissociation products is now possible, limited only by the quality of the available date. Examples concerning the effect of salinity and the fluid on Henry's constant of CO2 and the resulting are presented.
