Abstract
Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNL) has developed a hydrogen sulfide removal process, applicable in abating H2S pollution problems during steam stacking in geothermal fields. The process uses a catalytic oxidation reaction to convert H2S in geothermal steam to elemental sulfur and water vapor. In laboratory tests, the process has effectively removed H2S from simulated geothermal steam.
