Abstract
Exploration of Kamojang has given extensive data about the natural site of this vapor dominated reservoir. Below 500m there is the vapor reservoir, containing steam and slightly mobile water. Above this is the condensate layer, which is liquid dominated. The system is driven by a natural upflux of steam. This rises through the vapor zone, losing a little steam to lateral flow within the vapor. The steam then rise further through the condensate layer. In this contact region, where the natural outflow goes through the condensate layer, there is a two phase liquid dominated fluid. Outside the contact area the condensate layer is liquid. The vapor reservoir contain 7-9% water, as a fraction of the total rock volume, or 35% saturated at a porosity of 20-25%. Kamojang is wetter than the Geysers or Lardarello.
