Abstract
The geology of ore deposits in carbonate rocks in the eastern Great Basin gives insight into the geology of present day geothermal reservoirs in carbonate rocks. The Cove Fort KGRA is geologically similar to the Tintic mining district and the geology of the Carlin mine area suggest a carbonate reservoir at the Beowawe KGRA. Carbonate moving along fractures may leach calcite and, less often, dolomite and thereby increase porosity and permeability.
