Abstract
Present methods for completing steam and liquid dominated, dry rock, and geopressured geothermal wells are described by interpretative review of actual and proposed operations in the Geysers, Imperial Valley, the Valles Caldera, New Mexico project, and Louisiana-Texas geopressured zones. Limitations of technology and equipment that has been adapted from the petroleum industry to meet new and unique requirements of these downhole environments are objectively analyzed.
