I am starting my second year in the Rock Fracture Project of the Department of Geological and Environmental Science of Stanford University.

Before coming to Stanford, I spent three years working towards my masters degree in Geosciences and Computer Sciences at SUNY at Stony Brook. At Stony Brook, I studied the provenance of loess using Ar geochronology of mica and took computer courses. I also have a bachelors degree in Geochemistry from USTC in China.

Currently at Stanford, I am conceptualizing my PhD dissertation, which builds ontology in the domain of fractures and faults as well as their mechanics and petrophysical properties. I am also interested in semantic search and the application of ontology in the cyberinfrastructure for the Geosciences. Current progress of this project can be found here.
