Postdoctoral Research Scholar/Crustal Seismologist
The Department of Geophysics at Stanford University invites applications to
fill a Postdoctoral Scholar position.
This position is a full-time 12-month appointment, renewable on an
annual basis.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience with analysis of
wide-angle seismic data and an understanding of tomographic methods. S/he will
preferably also have an interest in integrating active-source and
passive-source imaging techniques for lithospheric structure.
The successful candidate will join the Stanford's Crustal Research Group.
Our current interests include
problems of lithospheric structure and tectonics in regions of crustal growth
(Izu-Bonin-Mariana arc), active collision (Himalaya and Tibet), and active
extension (Basin & Range, Ethiopian Rift).
