Professor
Harris' current interests include experimental methods
in high-resolution borehole geophysics for reservoir
management applications, attenuation mechanisms in natural
media, acoustical spectroscopy, and monitoring techniques
for monitoring geological sequestration of carbon dioxide.
Professor Harris teaches classes on waves in complex
media and borehole seismology. He has advised graduate
students now working in the petroleum industry, the
medical imaging industry, and academia. In 1992, Prof.
Harris founded TomoSeis Corporation. The company was
later purchased by Core Laboratories, a Dutch oilfield
services company.
