The Stanford Challenge
- Campaign Priorities
- Endowment for the Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources (IPER), to create a stable funding base to sustain its growth and development;
- Funding to further develop the newly established Stanford Center for Computational Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), and to enable quality improvements and increased research staff support for all SES analytical facilities, including new shared facilities;
- Six new professorships to enhance and expand research in existing and emerging areas of strength: computational geosciences, energy, hazards, climate, global systems, and environmental modeling;
- New graduate fellowships to help SES attract top graduate students to our department and to interdisciplinary programs like IPER and the new Graduate Program in Earth, Energy, and Environmental Sciences (EEES);
- Increased participation in and support of the Earth Sciences Fund, an essential source of unrestricted support for both existing programs and new ventures.
