Ridge Basin (3 days) 

• Pull apart basin with lacustrine and alluvial fan deposits

Salinas Valley fossil locality (1-2 days, weekend)

• Pliocene giantism period of barnale reefs

Grand canyon rafting trip (10 days)

• Motorized, 16 person boat for 7 days, 6 nights (Lees ferry to Whitmore Wash)

Death Valley depositional envts. (5-6 days)

• May coincide with Depositional Environments class Fall quarter??  If this class happens, Seidmentary petrography would not be taught the same quarter
• Glacial, ooid shoal, deep-water, etc. etc. environments

Foreland Basin trip (Book Cliffs) (10-14 days)

• Tectonic sedimentation interplay, classic shallow marine parasequences, etc.
• Would coincide with Seminar on same topic spring quarter

Biases in the Fossil record (5 days?)

• California and Nevada – looking at various ages and fossil preservations potentials, etc.

Rosario Formation, Baja California  ( 7 days )

• Deep-water forearc basin sedimentation patterns
• Bivalve paleobiology??
