The Sedimentary Geology Research Group at Stanford University studies a variety of problems in basin analysis, deep-water systems, micropaleontology, and Archean environmental conditions. This group is led by professors Don Lowe and Steve Graham . In addition, the Sed Group collaborates with a larger group of faculty in the department, including Jonathan Payne (paleobiology), Rob Dunbar (stable isotopes, oceanography), George Hilley (tectonic geomorphology, quantitative structure, GIS), Page Chamberlin (isotope geochemistry) and Mike Moldowan (organic geochemistry, biomarkers).
