Information on Near-Surface Geophysics:

Near-surface geophysics is the use of geophysics for a wide range of applications, all of which require information about the top ~100 m of the earth. Scientists and engineers interested in near-surface geophysics are spread among many different professional societies (see link to these societies below). The purpose of this website is to facilitate the exchange of information among the societies, and to attempt to work more effectively together to advance both the science and the practice of near-surface geophysics.

Linked to this page you'll find topics of interest to those inside and outside of the near-surface community, information about upcoming events, professional societies that include near-surface geophysics, graduate programs, and events in the planning stage. This site is meant to be used by, and built by, anyone with an interest in supporting near-surface geophysics. Please send your ideas, and any material that you would like to have distributed through this site to Rosemary Knight rknight@stanford.edu
