Isotope Geochemistry Facilities @ Stanford
*** Coming Soon: A new ICP-MS facility in the Shool of Earth Sciences

Stanford ICP-MS Facility

High sensitivity and high precision measurement of elemental concentrations and non-traditional stable and radiogenic isotopes

Description: Under construction is a new ICP-MS laboratory that will feature two magnetic sector ICP-MS instruments, one single-collector and one multi-collector. One instrument will be optimized for high-sensitivity concentration work and the other for high-precision isotope work. In addition, we will be adding new clean lab space to the existing infrastructure to provide space for students and researchers who wish to use the ICP-MS facility.

Instruments: Coming soon.

Other Isotope Facilities at Stanford

  • Sensitive High-Resolution Ion Microprobe - Reverse Geometry (SHRIMP-RG): In-situ isotopic and concentration analyses at the micron scale

  • Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS): High-precion isotopic analyses

  • Stanford Noble Gas Lab (Ar, He, etc.)

  • Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry Laboratory (SIBL)
