About the Department
Global environmental change is one of the most critical challenges facing humanity. At Stanford, we are harnessing the strengths of faculty and students from around the university to help address environment and sustainability challenges through our research and teaching efforts. The Department of Environmental Earth System Science was created specifically to support these efforts.
