We use Principles of Geophysics by Norman H. Sleep and Kazuya Fujita published by Blackwell Science Ltd. The book can be ordered on the web from usual book sellers even though it is offically out of print. The course has been modified to include plate tectonics and planetology. The lectures will not duplicate the book but cover key points and examples not covered in the book. Attendance is very strongly recommended.
Students from Physics and Engineering who do not have a background in the Earth Sciences are welcome. The class will concentrate on heat flow this year.
