Reading the pangea msgs bulletin board on the web

Last revision July 22, 2004

The pangea msgs web interface creates an index list of the latest fifteen messages, plus a link to an index of all older messages that are still on the system. These lists show the posting date and subject of each message. Click on the message number in the list, to see the message text displayed in the frame below the list.

The web interface does not automatically update itself when a new message is posted. You must click on your browser's Refresh or Reload button periodically to see newly posted messages. The web interface cannot keep track of which messages you have seen. It simply posts the current list of messages on the system.

Because the news items posted on this messages bulletin board are intended only for distribution within the School of Earth Sciences, the web interface is restricted so that it is only visible to Stanford computers. If you regularly use a computer at a non-Stanford site, you may ask the pangea web manager to authorize the web server to let that computer view the messages. For example, all computers at the U.S.G.S. Menlo Park office are allowed to view the pangea messages web site.
