How do I send an email to many people?

Last revision June 16, 2004

The easiest way to put a message where everyone can see it is to post on our "pangea system messages" electronic bulletin board. Everyone is encouraged to check this often, either on the web at http://pangea.stanford.edu/msgs, or by running the msgs command from a pangea login. You post a message on this bulletin board by simply sending an email to the special address

     msgs@pangea.stanford.edu

Don't forget to use a subject line that indicates the relevant group for whom the message is intended.

For more information on the pangea system messages, see the document How to read and post messages on pangea.

For instructions on how to create an email list, see Creating email alias and lists.
