Stanford University School of Earth Science

K-12 Programs

By working with budding scientists and current science students, we offer programs to broaden their understanding of the scientific process. The programs help students understand Earth sciences. The programs are offered free of cost to students and teachers of our local community.
Besides our programs listed on the left, you may also be interested in the other programs listed below.

Events for Girls and Boys interested in Science
We offer workshops and activities at two great events held each year, the Sally Ride Festival and Expanding Your Horizons
Expanding Your Horizons in Math and Science is an all-day conference for 6th through 12th grade girls. Graduate students lead 1 hour workshops where girls get hands-on experiences with the tools of Earth scientists. In 2006, four women graduate students participated at EYH at San Jose State University and at Skyline College. We are supportive of events like this to help inspire other young girls to go into science careers.
