New Student Information

Welcome to Stanford!

We've compiled some information to help you get yourself settled here. Most of this will apply to everyone, though there is some additional information for international students.

New Student Overnight

We recommend that you plan to arrive in time for the annual GSAC Overnight before classes start. This event is sponsored by the Dean's Office, and is a great way for you to get to know your fellow students! Here are the trip details (PDF File). If you don't know where GeoCorner (building 320 is), here's a map.

SES New Student Orientation

Here is a schedule for the New Student Orientation for the School of Earth Sciences. Please be there to find out all the important information that you will need for the upcoming year, meet faculty, and get your new student handbook.

Computer Orientation

This year there will also be a highly-recommended workshop to help you get started using computer resources in the School of Earth Sciences. There will be two courses offered during the first week of classes. Stay tuned for dates and times.
