The Stanford Geothermal program, in the Department of Energy Resources Engineering offers graduate study program leading to the degrees of MS or PhD. The degrees are in Energy Resources Engineering, and include the normal course schedule for Energy Resources Engineering students, together with courses in geothermal as well as research topics specific to geothermal reservoir engineering.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates with undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences or engineering. Admission is based on the results of GRE and TOEFL examinations, academic record, and letters of recommendation. People with working experience in the geothermal industry are encouraged to apply. Financial aid is available for applicants with strong records.
