Research Interests:
As an earthquake seismologist, I image the Earth using energy from earthquakes like a doctor images a patient's brain with a CAT scan.

Distributed Computing allows us to compute large scientific problems on 100s-1000s of computers connected over the internet.

Field Deployments: With the ~18 sensor Stanford Broadband Seismic Network (SBSN) I intend to study tectonically unique regions around the Earth.

    • Antarctica
    • Alaska
    • Madagascar
    • Galapagos

Seismic Attenuation is a process by which seismic waves lose energy. The differences in energy loss for various regions inside the Earth tell us a lot about the internal dynamics of the Earth.
